I hope that this new decade has started out with fresh vision and excitement for your future endeavors. I wanted to share a few highlights from 2019 and tell you where I am heading in 2020.
The beginning of 2019 got off to a, well, interesting start. I had invested time and resources into my own studio space. However, a fire in the building (with 4 other businesses) caused that not to happen. I then moved into a gorgeous temporary space. I concluded that the overhead for the amount of space was not needed as a lot of my work is on location. I now share studio space with an amazing fashion photographer offering the room for any project that could come along.
February brought the first of many Ascension Campaign shoots. I had the honor of shooting a few celebrities such as Peyton Manningand Bubba Watson. These were all enormous productions. Projects such as these are no easy feat and there is zero room for error. It is critical to be efficient, decisive, communicative all while staying extremely technical. Any small delay can cause the whole project to be held up.
I had the privilege to have worked with some of the best Directors, Producers and Crews from all across the United States. Companion shoots are being asked of our industry more frequently. Teamwork is what allows these intense deliverable demands to be possible.
I had a few shoots with a technology company that is making a buzz in the PGA and MLB world. I got to capture a series of MLB and PGA players in their element and photograph the product as well. Collaborating with a future forward company is exciting. Some of the top MVP players in baseball stated themselves that they were "not naturally born athletes” but technology is what helped make them.
Finally, 2019 brought on a beautiful Broyhill Furniture Campaign . Not only did the commercial and stills turn out gorgeous the experience on set is what makes me love my career. The agency trusted our creative vision to capture moments of a bustling family home life. I was able to utilize my post production team which was useful to match the lifestyle product to the studio product shots.
That brings me to today. I am continuing my career in commercial photography and focusing on directing as well. I am excited to bring my expertise to the table and can not wait to share what 2020 is bringing. My focus is becoming less on “just being busy” and ultimately my goal is to make a lasting footprint. That being said, I would love to discuss any project that arises. I love to collaborate! That is where the magic happens. Cheers to 2020. Let’s do some great work!
