One major highlight of 2021 occurred when working with the amazing team at 160over90 for Cabo Wabo Tequila’s new bottle and label. Creating elevated brand narratives is our specialty, blending our expertise in studio work with the celebrity and lifestyle the brand represents so this project was right up our alley.

The Ask:

Cabo Wabo Tequila wants to help it’s fans enjoy a “Thicker Cut of Life”. The brand’s founder, Sammy Hagar, sought to create a tequila that embodied this “Thick Cut” lifestyle - a no-holds barred approach to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

The rebranding shoot aimed to capture a lighter work hard/play hard mentality, highlighting the fun, social, and energized elements of what tequila is. The deliverables were an extensive library of motion and still assets to support the launch of this new look.

The Process:

We’ll be the first to admit, this was a big project! The shoot featured two days with celebrity chefs and TV personalities, Myron and Michael Mixon and two days with our lifestyle models. The Amy Schromm Productions team brought in the director of photography who was able to shoot motion along with the still setups, food stylists, and additional producers to take on this 4-day shoot. We believe that the majority of the work is ironed out in pre production ensuring all props, food, sets, prepped product and shot lists (to name a few) are organized for efficiency on shoot days.
