While the sun might be setting on summer, our Barefoot campaign is far from running dry! This lifestyle production was the perfect backdrop for their newest release and our team’s philosophy that life’s palette is best served with a touch of sophistication and a lot of fun!
Barefoot Wines is an award-winning company that aims to make wine approachable, accessible, and portable, designed with a screw-off top for all your on-the-go adventures. Every bottle is tinted to match its taste, and they’ve gained success by establishing a vivid and colorful brand identity that stands out on social media.
To keep their look fresh, Barefoot wanted to incorporate lifestyle concepts and a candid approach into their narrative. A sunny, outdoor-styled production was the perfect opportunity to take their bubbly identity into a natural setting. Over a two-day shoot, Amy Schromm’s team worked in the studio to create the story of summer for their 2023 campaign.
In our first talks with the client, Barefoot expressed a desire to incorporate taste cues and an appetite appeal that generates a thirst for their wines. While every product needs a hero shot, the intent of the campaign was to showcase all the elements and atmosphere that make for a perfect summer day.
When planning all the moving pieces of a shoot, our team works hard to utilize pre-production so we can make the most out of everyone’s time on set. We discussed the food, wardrobe, playful props, elaborate set designs, and shot list in pre-planning. The outcome was a collaborative effort between the client, our producer, and in-house stylists so that nothing was left to chance on the day of.
For the studio set design, we worked with Blue Coyote Design Studio to generate six unique color-blocked sets that incorporated Barefoot’s bright style within a lifestyle setting. We brought in a lush array of plants, outdoor backdrops, and multi-level tables to create dimension in the studio space. As the brand was looking to branch out from its standard still life and product photography, we ensured that the models and sets didn’t appear too staged. This candid and editorial style helped us produce all the b-roll that the client wanted to capture for social media.
Our beverage stylist has been a part of the team for over 10 years, and we immediately jumped into designing tablescapes, with a focus on pairing each wine with complimentary foods to maintain the brand’s rich color palette.
Unlike other liquor companies, Barefoot appeals to a relaxed crowd with their “Fun Without the Fuss” slogan, and we leaned into this ideology when styling our models; because drinking wine doesn’t mean you have to dress up.
We brought our team’s digitech, producer, and lighting assistant, for seamless production and did all post-work through our food and beverage retoucher. With the campaign set to launch this month, we’re eager to see our work displayed on print POS and social media and are excited to continue working with Barefoot Wines in their evolution towards a lifestyle-centered brand narrative.
